ISU String Project Summer Camp 2022
Join us this summer at a camp just for string students! The String Project Summer Camp is a summer community program for violin, viola, cello, and bass students entering 4th through 8th grades. Students should have at least one year of playing experience. Each day will feature lessons and coaching by Illinois State University faculty members and college teaching assistants, as well as group orchestra and musicianship classes. All classes will be held in Cook Hall on the Illinois State University campus.
Dates:
- Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5, 2022.
- Camp begins each day at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at noon.
- On Friday, the students will present a concert from noon to 1 p.m. in the Illinois State University Center for the Performing Arts.
Tuition:
- The cost for the 5-day camp is $190 per student. Students need to bring their own instruments. Music and snacks will be provided. Limited partial scholarships are available; please contact Professor Katherine Lewis if your child is eligible for free/reduced lunches.
REDBIRD Summer Philharmonic (High School and Early College)
Phil Rudd, Ph.D. will lead our summer string orchestra for advanced students. Repertoire will be announced soon! In addition to rehearsing standard literature for string orchestra, students will participate in short sessions such as masterclass and workshops with Illinois State University faculty.
Dates:
- Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5, 2022 - 5:30-8 p.m.
- On Friday, the students will present a concert - 7:30 p.m.
Tuition:
- The cost for the 5-day camp is $175 per student. Limited partial scholarships are available; please contact Professor Katherine Lewis if your child is eligible for free/reduced lunches.
